Our Surgical Suite
We are sensitive to the guidelines for office-based surgery accreditation concerning safety, documentation, sterile technique and appropriateness of procedures in an office setting. The surgery suite is designed for safety and efficiency.
The suite and staff are prepared to manage emergencies and the design facilitates easy access for a stretcher and transfer by ambulance to our nearby hospital if necessary. Risks are reduced by limiting anesthesia to IV sedation and local anesthesia which is more than sufficient for the procedures done in our office. For most procedures there are 2 staff present with the surgeon. The staff includes a licensed anesthetist, ACLS certified, and an RN besides the Surgeon.
Scheduled checks and maintenance is done on all equipment and there is an emergency electrical supply in case of a power outage during a surgery. The intent is to function similar to an outpatient surgery center and provide convenient personalized care.
